The 12 Years of Voiceover

Twelve years is arguably a long time but that's (apparently) how long I've been doing Suzanne Wynn Voice Over. (morphing into Sound Spark Studio)

I got my first "VO gig" in 2009 playing the part of a spoiled rotten, pink teddy bear. The only line I remember is "...and stay away from my cupcakes, Ryan!" (it was my birthday and Ryan was my teddy bear brother.)

Two things:

1. I cannot imagine what made me so good for that role 😂😜 and

2. I WISH I had the audio.

From there, I played a lot of radio doing mornings, evenings, afternoons and middays. Actually, this is the first time since 2005 I've been completely out of radio.

I've played cursing customers and sales reps; I've played a propane tank truck driver and I've played doctors and moms and smartasses.

I've gotten to announce events, live and recorded. I've helped raise money for assorted charities and upheld #girlpower by calling out girls' names in cheer intros.

I've been PAID to say <ahem> "muther effer" and also "Lynyrd Skynyrd." Even got a pronunciation guide on that one! (Being born and raised in the southeast US, I had no need for that! They were practically my first words!)

I've told origin stories of nonprofits trying to solve hunger and whispered game origin stories in the style of Galadriel (goosebumps!)

It's safe to say it's been a WILD ride and one I'm grateful to even be on.

There are few higher highs or lower lows than in opportunities you find and create for yourself.

Thanks for being here.

Suzanne
